an atom is probably still better than the athlon 64 i used to mess with, and the baby sweet jesus full gigabyte of DDR1 that only slightly smelled like burn.

Wow and I thought that my dads pc sucked.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

Wow and I thought that my dads pc sucked.

well, that used to be my home server, until it caught fire, ran like a dream tho, even when filling the house with smoke. (+1 to HP build quality)

on topic:

theres multiple ways of going at formatting this machine:

- all on one partition install, on SSD

- 40GB root partition on SSD, 16GB swap at the front of HDD, followed by storage.

- seperated partition install, on SSD

- 8GB root partition, and 32GB home partition on SSD, 16GB swap at the front of HDD, followed by storage.

- all on one partition install, on HDD

- 16GB swap at the front of HDD, rest of it root, and a games partition on the SSD

- seperated partition install, on HDD

- 16GB swap at the front of HDD, ~50GB root, rest of it home, games partiton on the SSD

- more seperated partition install, spread over both.

- 16GB swap at the front of HDD, rest of it home, 25GB root on SSD, 15GB games on SSD

- less seperated partition install, spread over both.

- 16GB swap at the front of the HDD, rest of it home, entire SSD is root, placing the games somewhere on the root drive as well.

ps: in case someone wonders where this sudden list of ideas came from, #poopnap.

I completely forgot what this topic was even about, but I would get games on the ssd and then get another ssd later for the OS.
