so i just built my new system but when i have only the cpu, one ram model and just the SSD the pc stops on thew asus splash screen.

when i plug my gtx 970 in, it goes past the splash screen but then just goes to black, anyone help please.

post code read out?

there isn't a read out as this motherboard doesn't have a read out :L.

i've gotten it once to show me the next stage where it is detecting the devices then just goes to black again.

i;ve noticed everytime i press delete it makes a lot of bleep sounds as well.

nope, when i try to mash the del button it goes to black as well.

I have a Z97 - AR and they're the same minus a couple ports. They are a little weird when it comes to hardware changes. Take out the GPU, put the ram in the correct slot and then reset the bios by removing the battery, unplugging the power supply, wait 20 seconds plug it back in, insert the battery and it should boot. Once it does, put the gpu in, it will probably do a weird boot cycle then turn on, thats atleast what mine did.

what lights are turned on?

 

On the motherboard the z97-a and z97-ar have led lights on the MB that you can look up in the Manuel for trouble codes

 

green and red led lights

Remove the SSD and see if you can load the BIOS.
