Hi!

My friend has asked me to help him pic pieces for a new PC. He has $400, but is willing to pull out another $100 if need be. He doesn't need a Case, monitor or peripherals though so we can scratch that off.

What would you guys suggest?

Thanks :)

He has a HDD for space so just an SSD for boot should be fine. Most of the other stuff is just too old to reuse though.

What form factor is the case he currently has? or is he just gonna make one out of cardboard or something?

Thanks mate. I linked him that, but just added an SSD for boot and told him to save up for it rather, because SSD is love and SSD is life. Thanks ♥

No HDD or case, but this would be make for a good gaming PC if you can reuse your old hard drive. The 280 is considerably better than the 270x

EDIT: changed to CAS 9 RAM

EDIT: Sorry I'm busy right now I can't check if the motherboard/CPU are compatible without BIOS update. If someone else could check for me that'd be great!
