Single Gtx 770 PCI Express Gen 3 16x vs 8x does it matter?

Slampig

Hello

I'm building my rig and i've got a quick question. As the title states: Does it practically matter where i put my single GTX 770? PCI Express Gen 3 16x or 8x? I know i could make it easy and just take the 16x slot but it would visually look better if i would put it into the 8x slot  (First world problems i guess) So is there any noticeable performance drop?

Thanks for the replies.

It makes no difference.

Linus has a video where he ran two GTX 580's in SLI in both 16x/16x and 8x/8x. There was little/no difference between the two.

If you were talking about server-grade RAID cards or 10Gbps network, the difference in PCI lanes can be huge. But for graphics cards, not so much.
