Hello Forum,

I looked into this problem a lot but I didn't find a simple way to do it. I'd like you to help me and tell me how to increase the resolution and detail of GTA IV. This issue I suppose is very common in the PC version and I'm not able to change the pathetic 800x600 (I guess) resolution and everything else. I have a GTX 970 STRIX and I bought the game off Steam.

Thanks!  :)

Problem is if your GPU has more tha 2GB ram GTA4 will recognize it as LESS THAN 2GB which is bad. Luckily there is a fix, i had the same problem with R9 290 GPU. Just right click on the icon of GTA4 go to properties and in the Shortcut tab paste " -nomemrestrict -norestrictions" without " after the GTA4 exe.
So it will look like this: "D:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -nomemrestrict -norestrictions

you dont need to keep making a new topic every few hours about the same thing ><

You can fix it by playing GTA 5 instead :D

have you made sure everything is up to date? verify the game cache and drivers etc?

this might help

That's it. I'm not gonna buy any game from Rockstar now. So, thanks for your help @ShadowCaptain, @Sauron and all the people on the previous thread but it didn't work. And playing at 800x600 is pathetic on a 970 STRIX. Does Steam give refunds?

I'm in India, they don't sell gift cards here. At least not Steam.

GTA 5 works fine (and is amazing)

Have you tried contacting rockstar support
