My OS is missing a program?

Hi!

 

I was searching for a fix to get support for 21:9 res on AC4:BL and I came across a program, downloaded it and windows says (after extracting) that its missing a program called GFSDK_SSAO_win32.dll

 

What to do?

it's not a program it's a library file (.dll). maybe try a reinstall

 

Of windows? I can't do that, I don't want to download all my games again. I needed 9hrs to download bf3 (17gb)

A missing .DLL file is quite common.

You can just download it and it should be fixed.

you can always try "sfc /scannow"  it might find the missing dll, and fix it for you

A missing .DLL file is quite common.

You can just download it and it should be fixed.

 

I've been fixing DLL files since Windows Xp but yeah the site could be sketchy but a .DLL can't do much, you can also copy it from another pc.

you can always try "sfc /scannow"  it might find the missing dll, and fix it for you

no just the program you need it for or download it from somewhere.

 

Installed the file, rebooted, still not working (and I downloaded the correct file!)

pretty sure that file is part of .net

 

install .net

 

I'm pretty sure I have it. Even if I didn't it requires just this one file, right? So it should be fine if I had only this one?

What program is that? Did you try to put the DLL in the same folder as the program that you are using?

 

I did a quick google search and found a program called "DLL-files Fixer". Searched for my missing file, found it, installed, said it was successfully installed and then I rebooted. No I didn't since the program I+m having problems with is in a zip file and I get this error message when un-zipping

You are unzipping to run the program? Have you tried extracting the whole zip file first on another folder before running it?

Did it and I successfully extracted the program, now I have a .exe in its own folder. Where can I find my missing .dll file (I already have it, says the program)

Can you send me a screenshot of what happens when you run it? you can probably find it off the internet and put it in the same folder.

Its german but in english it means something like this: The program cannot be started because/ since GFSDK_SSAO_win32.dll is missing on the Computer. Reinstall the program to fix this problem.

I can't reinstall this exe because its not even installed and I get this message when I click on it. I want to find this .dll file and put it in this folder

I think you basically place this exe on your AC4 folder and replace the original Exe file(judging from the file name).  If this is a crack of the game then just note that this forum is strongly against pirating.

Found the .dll and placed it in the folder but still getting the same error. No, this is not a crack, this is a fix for ultrawide monitor support (I have one and cannot run at native res without black bars).

I see, ok then try going to your AC folder. Find the .exe file that has the same name as that .exe you just extracted. Back it up somewhere safe. Lastly copy and paste this extracted .exe file to your AC folder where you found the original .exe.

this should be a really easy fix that should be fixed simply by re-installing the game. if you use the UPLAY launcher and non of the other games on the UPLay launcher work then i would recommend re-installing the launcher aswell. i don't know what you use to play it and i don't know what other games you have so i'm just trying to give as much information as possible based upon what i already know
