Have you guys ever traveled with your full desktop onto a plane? (screen, tower, peripherals)

If you did how, did you manage to do it? I bet there were a lot of questions asked.

Yes.. full tower and my 2 screens, (Del U2311h and U2713hm)

No real questions.. customs may ask whats in it.. just tell them.. if they want to look, they want to look.

Most places are fine with it (the few I've travelled with my rig) and simply ask if it's new (Tax / customs reasons)

Some flights / carriers will not allow you to put a monitor in the hold as the panel can leak if damaged.

As for packing.. remove anything heavy (Hdd's, GPU and tower heat-sink)

Then put card over the motherboard and fill with packing material (not Styrofoam)

Try to pack in origonal case box as the packaging is made for your case..

Customs can check to see if you have legal software if they really want to in some countries.

Baggage handlers are not gentle.. I've had damage a few times.. But the carrier has always paid for anything. (European laws)

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Quote or @dzzope to get my attention..

I'm thinking of taking my pc with me to uni, but I don't think it's the best idea to pack the case into a check-in suitcase when they just throw it around, regardless of the sticker.

Carry it with you into the cabin? I hope it's an ITX case, it'd make it much easier

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

that just made me think of something dont most planes have a plug socket under the seat (LAN party on a plane)

My speakers dont even fit on or under my desk...PA's FTW
