You read the title. One of my friend Ahmad Babar just spotted this on Google Maps — an Android bot pissing over at the Apple logo. You can usually find similar things over at a hate-Apple sticker shop, but looks very surprising Google would let something like this go online over at Google Maps for everyone to see. This probably could be some kind of a joke by Google — but I think we are way past the April Fool’s Day now.

 

Nothing to talk about here. I think this is pretty funny.

if it was real, its a pretty funny Calvin & Hobbes reference. Apple users wouldn't see it anyway, or at least most would never become aware of it. Yeah there will always be your sensitive types that will cry about it, but those types will cry about anything that triggers an emotion.

Not done by Google directly, but still funny

 

A Google spokesperson got back to us, explaining that the image is likely a result of a user abusing Map Maker, the tool that allows everyone to contribute to Google Maps. "Even though edits are moderated, occasionally the odd inaccurate or cheeky edit may slip through our system," he said in a statement to Mashable. "We've been made aware of the issue and are working on getting it removed."

Interestingly enough, someone told Google what they think about their edit moderation policy withanother image, located a little bit to the east of the Android bot, in the Takht Pari forest. The overall message, while a bit crude, is pretty clear: Google's moderation system for Google Maps edits indeed needs some work.
