Are you sure your DVD drive works? Use another computer somewhere in your house and make a bootable USB instead and try that. Also, did you boot in UEFI mode or Legacy? You need to have your SATA controller set to AHCI if you want to use UEFI since GPT partition tables doesn't mix with IDE / compatible mode at all.
