Heres my story. So yesterday it was late, and I was just getting offline. I shut down my PC like normal and while the windows screen was JUST going away and the pc was like 5seconds away from shutting down I flipped the switch on the back to shut it completely down so it doesnt draw any power and doesnt keep my keyboard lit up so my LEDs last longer. Now I am thinking at this point nothing is wrong and I went to bed. Just turned the PC on and the GPU doesn't display screen. I tried the HDMI port on the back (which I think is the Motherboard) and it works! But my GPU screen or w/e you call it doesn't show anything and says no signal. My GPU fans are spinning and looks OK? I dont know because I am new to EVERYTHING about pc and didn't even build it my self because I didn't wanna screw anything up.

My question is how do I know what parts I just messed up? Its not my CPU, its probably my GPU, it can't be my ram because its detecting 8gb of ram and is working, it can't be my motherboard, nor my HDD so at this point... Did I just fry my GPU?

I made this thread in another forum on here but got not as much help as expected but I appreciated it. Hopefully someone here can help me more. My GPU is being detected but when I plug in my HDMI cable from monitor to GPU in the back of my pc. It shows up as this is my DEVICE MANAGER. http://gyazo.com/35eacee12983b42c0266fba129e139b0

Try reinstalling the driver maybe ? If you have another pc lying around put the card into the other pc and see if it's work.

Maybe you bumped one of the cables and broke one of the outputs? Try another one maybe?

Corrupted driver, like I thought. It's because you switched the computer off while it was on. This can also happen with your OS, if you have it for example on your SSD it can then try to boot off your HDD. Just avoid this trouble by not switching it off before it's shutdown ;p

Completely de-install your drivers and THEN install the newest driver.

http://gyazo.com/3208909d13a94d0455400ab616f642daDo you want me to Check that box?

Yes sure, it's just your driver.

Restart the computer after the uninstall, and after it's restarted (sometimes it'll reinstall the driver automaticly) otherwise install latest one from the website. just wait a bit and check the rightbottom corner in case it's already reinstalling a driver.

Don't be scared if your screen resolution goes to shit, because it'll.

Just fill in your operating system and select the gtx 960 (you can also do auto-detect)

Tell me if it's fixed after that.

Thanks downloading now... After done do I just click restart later? Then shut my pc down, switch the cables, then boot up again or no? Please explain what I should do after.

Na, just let it install (close any open programs), watch some tv and when it's done installing, restart your computer again and it should be fixed. Check the GPU again in the systemmonitor and see if that yellow warning is still there.

Driver issues occur when you shutdown your computer like that sometimes..

I once did it (after my computer was lagging out), and it switched my bootup drive..

My operating system was on my SSD, and it tried to boot my OS from the HDD... can be annoying.

O wait sorry I missed something

Why do you not have a cable coming from the GPU to the monitor? You need a DVI cable from gpu to monitor.

First re-install drivers please then report back ;)

It's either drivers or a hardware malfunction.

What mobo do you have? also how long have you been running this setup already?

3 Weeks to a month my motherboard isnt all that good but its a Z97-HD3 Gigabyte Intel Motherboard... Hopefully I remember that correctly.
