In ever game I play, my razer deathadder is having huge amounts of input lag. Even using the thing lags the entire game, even the sound. For gaming I've been using some awful mouse I conjured from an old pile of various usb devices. What could the problem be? I did just download razer comms, if that might have anything to do with it.

Input lag or mouse acceleration/deaccleration? If I'm not mistaken the DA uses a LASER sensor and those have flaws.

The DA is a optical mouse..

It's been a while since I used one. I used to have 1g and never touched it since a year ago I tried the 3.5g and it died on me within two days. I'm going to blame the Razer drivers then. Don't use drivers for mice.

Funny you say that cause 2 hours ago i turned on my computer and the mouse would move around but the buttons would not work..Had to restart 3 times for it to work,..I haven't had tons of issues with drivers but i for sure have had some..

Not sure if just Razer, drivers, or Razer drivers but I don't trust Razer products anymore.

@NotSoHonestAbe is your sound is also lagging it may not be the mouse but to see if it is try another mouse on the system and see if you the same problems. If you dont its the mouse return or RMA it. If you still have issues trying uninstalling the software for the mouse. If your still having problems after that is something with your system not the mouse.

@Gorgatron I recently bought a Deathadder 2013 on sale because i wanted to see what everyone is raving about and have had 0 problems with the mouse or the software at all. Also the original Deathadder and the 3.5G black were two of the most highly regarded mice. And about not using drivers for mice how am i supposed to program the thing if I dont install the software?

What bindings do you need on a mouse that aren't default and require the software? Forward/Back is all I think you would need on a mouse. Keyboards with macro keys should have that job.

Programming it doesnt just include buttons but also DPI, polling rate, and a bunch of other stuff. But that aside any mouse with more than 5 buts its much less useful without its driver, examples would be 2 of my favorite mice the G700/G700s and G600.

Zowie mouses have a button underneath where you can change the DPI on the fly without software needed. This is just my cs 1.6 thought processes here. Drivers get in the way imo.

So do many other mice sadly not the deathadder 2013 :(. Also many times the dpi that you can select is not ones I prefer say 1600dpi. I am also kinda sad that the industry is getting away from driver less mice meaning that you program it how you ant it then can turn off exit the driver/software and plug it in anywhere and its exactly how you had it on your PC without having to install any thing. BTW I still miss my Ikari it was my most favorite mouse for so many years. SteelSeries really did their job when the designed and first introduced that mouse.

True, and as handy as that may be, you have to unplug and replug the mouse in holding a certain button configuration assigned to each dpi. The dpi itself is locked to like 3 different settings, i think it's 400, 800, and 1600 (not 100% sure, don't quote me) and for the majority of people that would probably be fine because they don't know any better but for us, that's just not on.

I use a dpi of 500 and 400 may be the "closest" but is drastically different.

I use the deathadder 2013 and it's absolutely brilliant! Probably the best, or extremely close to, the best mouse you can buy. The thing is just so fricken accurate!

Sorry to hear about your lag, it's not the mouse though, I couldn't imagine a mouse ever doing that.
