  1. Since the OLED42C2PUA uses 300x200 VESA mounts, I'm using the MOUNT-AD4X2 adapter, which I know does add depth to the entire setup. I'm thinking that my solution may involve some DIY setup of attaching a small platform underneath the desk itself, so I can use a stand like this one, just with the base of the stand resting underneath the desk, and thus the arm of the unit extending slightly behind the desk.
  2. Thanks for the info. I'm not able to use a wall-mounting solution because I use an adjustable height desk. What can you tell me about the STAND-V001U model? What is the depth on that, and would it be compatible with the screen dimensions of the OLED42C2PUA display?
  3. I think this is display-related enough to belong in this section of the forum. I'm currently using a 43" LG C2 OLED, and I'm looking for a monitor arm/mount/whatever that will allow me to place the display as close to the wall as possible. I want to have enough space to fit a desk shelf underneath where I can have room for DACs and audio stuff under the monitor. Today, I changed my monitor arm from an Ergotron HX to a VIVO single-pole arm. The HX was overkill for what I needed, and I thought that it was too far away from the wall, and thus too close to my face, for the ergonomics of a 43" display to work. My desk is 30" x 60", and with the Ergotron, the display sat about 6" away from the wall. Now, with the VIVO, it's sitting at ~8.5" away from the wall. Both measurements It seems like monitor arm manufacturers don't really pay much attention to depth measurements. I got the VIVO because I foolishly assumed that a single-pole mount would be shallower than the adjustable arm of the Ergotron. I was wrong. Short of mounting it on the wall, which I can't do since I use an adjustable height desk, does anyone have any recommendations for a solution that will allow me to keep the display as close to the wall as possible? I've searched high and low on Amazon and found ones like this, but there is no information on depth available. I've attached some photos of my setup
  4. honestly only games i play regularly are battlebit and rocket league. i can scale down everything else i don't really care, but i just want a card that actually allows me to run my C3 at 120hz
  5. Hi forum, Much to my dismay, my new LG C3 OLED can't do 120hz at 4k off of my current RTX 2080 Super, so it's time for an upgrade. I've known for a while that I want my next PC to be a small form factor one, but I've never done such a build before. What sort of things should I look for when choosing my GPU for a small form factor build? Does anyone have any links to any helpful guides or anything like that? Any recommendations for a 4070 Ti/4080 that would be good for a small form factor? Thanks in advance
  6. Damn that's what I was afraid of. Well time to get a new GPU. Thanks for the fast responses guys
  7. Hey all, Having a big issue with reaching 120hz on my new LG C3 OLED and I am not sure why. I just can't find a 120hz setting anywhere, on the microsoft display settings or on the Nvidia Control panel. My GPU is an MSI RTX 2080 Super. Is that the issue, the GPU's HDMI port? Is it the cable? I have tried a few different cables. I am clueless as to why I can't get 3840x2160 at 120hz. Here are two screenshots of my Nvidia control panel: What I currently have it set as. The drop-down list under refresh rate only goes up to 60hz. 120hz becomes available at 2560x1440, under the "PC" listing. I've seen some other things where 3840x2160 is listed under PC on the control panel. pls help i need my 120 fps
  8. I tried different power cables and I tried some different inputs and all the same result. At this point the plan I guess is to go ahead with the warranty and if that doesn't work out then return it and buy a new one. I am cursed to have minor display issues...
  9. I will give that a try as soon as I can. I do have another Displayport cable around here somewhere.
  10. I am enjoying gaming on this thing. As I mentioned - the product came to me from South Korea. And yes, there is no external power brick. I was not aware at all that there was a "first gen" product.
  11. Yes - I am using displayport. i7 7700k msi RTX 2080 Super 16gb ram
  12. So earlier today I received my new super ultrawide 49" Samsung CRG9 monitor. Unforunately there is a minor issue with the display that I hope does not mean that I need to send anything back. It actually came from South Korea, so the menu is in Korean, the manuals were in Korean, and the power plug I received was Korean as well. But it is a standard 3-pin power plug (the transformer is internal) so I plugged it in with that. Attached is a video of the issue - it is only happening on the right 50% of the screen. How do I fix this???? Do I need 220v input like the plug that it came with? Or is this just a monitor defect? 20200415_174444.mp4
  13. Hello, This evening while I was just browsing the internet with night light mode turned on as I normally do I saw noticeable amount of discoloration on the left side of the monitor as well as a much less noticeable amount of similar looking discoloration on the right side of the monitor. I bought this monitor used off of amazon (according to the serial number it was manufactured in 2017). The discoloration seems to not go away when I turn off night light mode, but it does appear much less noticeable to where I would have probably never noticed it if I never used night light mode. There also appears to be some pixel loss in the upper left corner of the screen, please see the images. But no matter that, it does appear to be a defect and I want it to get sorted out. What would you advise I do about this? Is this a known problem on these displays? Here are some images I took of the monitor. The discoloration is barely visible when night light mode is off however there does appear to be some problem with the cursor display here. This is the right hand side of the screen where the same issue seems to be much less visible and barely comes through on this picture. Pixel loss - this is the upper left corner of the display.
  14. Good evening all, I have a (now disused) ASUS Xonar DGX sound card that has a rather unique function on it that comes in handy on occasion and that is called the "wave" microphone. Essentially, on the list of sound input devices on my PC there is one called "wave" that, that functions as a kind of relay that could record the sound output. I could essentially play a song on spotify, and use Audacity to record the song without an external microphone. Is there any type of software that would replicate this?
  15. Good afternoon all, I received my new monitor a few days ago, a Samsung CF791. It's a great monitor BUT when i received it, it didn't come with the vesa mounting adapter that it is supposed to come with therefore I can't use the mountain arm that I have. I have obviously taken up a claim with amazon and I have heard nothing yet, but I also cannot find anything on the internet. I can find a mountain adater for the CF591, but not the CF791 which has a different arm setup.
