That processor won't perform too well in photo editing

should be ok but def need a bigger SSD

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Not bad, but not great.

It'll run, but expect some sluggishness and dropped frames.

 

Have a look at the Lenovo W541 or Y50, Lenovo is having a big sale on right now and they are cheap!!

ok, but a bit overpriced and gimmicky. i still reccomend the Lenovo Y50 or W541. same spec if not better for much less, they are great machines.

laptops have dual core i7's but it does have HT

It's going to run. I run photoshop on a 2014 macbook air with a dual core i7, while it may take longer to export stuff its not going to be choppy while using it.

Will run photoshop and premier just fine - also runs great with apples new Photos which is really nice for editing/cataloguing (a mixture of iPhoto and Aperture) 

 

Seriously photo editing on OSX is really nice
