Which Would Be Better?

Im choosing to upgrade for my birthday, i would like to get a 960. My current build is:

AMD FX-8350 @ 4.3 Ghz

ASUS Sabertooth 990 FX R2.0

ASUS GTX 630

2 x 4Gb Corsair Vengeance @ 1866 Mhz

 

I would like to know about any bottle necks and which would be better to go with.

Well 970 is much more powerfull than 960, isn't 970 roughly as expensive as 770? But if 970 is too expensive for you I would reccomend R9 290 or R9 280X instead.

970 is incredible card for the money, it is better than 780 and sometimes it even beats 780ti!!

yes i am taking in account on what your saying but when i say i put the wrong card and i didnt realize the 770s have gone up in price. and the 960 is cheaper then the 970 so stuck on either getting a better GPU but a worse PSU or a better PSU but a worse GPU. BTW i have about £300 for an upgrade.

not the greatest brand but you will have money left for PSU, never cheap out on PSU  (Get good brand 550-650W one)

Thanks man i can live with the rest of the things i have now, but thanks man, im sttiling on that card and the 650 corsair PSU. plus my birthday isnt till next month so... the prices may go down.

Sometimes we all hit a CPU bottleneck, just depends on the game. The rest of the time you'd just be enjoying better performance. If you can get a GTX 970-class card instead, it's worthwhile in my opinion.

 

You can always crank up the graphics settings to either get free image quality improvements or shift the bottleneck back to the GPU.
