Can somone give me a beginners guide to overclocking?

I am going to be purchasing a desktop soon, and I will have an Intel i5-4690k, and a ASUS Z97-A LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard.

Could someone tell me how to start overclocking?  I will have a Corsair H50 120mm AOI cooler.

with intel...

Set to Manual Voltage v1.3

Increase Clock Speed by increments of .1

Run test for 5 mins, if pass increase by .1 again

keep doing this till you fail, then decrease it by .1 and you are done. you found your stable voltage and clock speed.

What test do i run?

People seem to like AIDA these days, personally I just use the test that comes with Intel XTU because... Well it's Intel's program for Intel CPUs, there's no worrying about whether or not the test is going to mess about with the voltages.
