Hey guys i got gta 5 today, and it notice i feel like im having way low fps for my set up 

could it be a cpu bottleneck?

it runs 40-60 fps on everything the lowest.

  • CPU
    Intel Core i5 2500S
  • Motherboard
    P8Z77-V LX
  • RAM
    Kingston HyperX 4x2 Dual-Channel
  • GPU
    MSI GTX 970
  • PSU
    ThermalTake Smart Standar 550W

It would not be a cpu bottleneck a quad core is plenty for any game.

 

If the driver update did not fix the fps try a bios flash.

 

Also just a note turn everything off in the advanced graphics settings in gta v, those have been known to kill fps.

 

To help a bit more with troubleshooting could you post some stats on your gpu power usage, temp, and gpu usage that could help find the issue faster.

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

But just for fun, how much CPU usage is there, and how much GPU usage?

Yup d3sl91 was right, was a cpu bottleneck.

the reason for the CPU load to hit that high is because of population density and varity is set to max

 

if you see the graphics settings

that actually helped a LOT i also updated my bios and that helped to :D

Yeah, since you know the CPU is working hard, stuff like population and whatnot helps that :)
