Super easy quicksync

zappian

Preface:

To preface this quickly quick sync is a technology that allows you to use your igpu to enconde the data of the stream.

It means quad core cpus and even i3 dual cores can stream easily now with no performance hit.

Makes shadow play look like a toy in comparison.

Only works on intel cpus with igpu.

Step 1:You will need to enable your igpu in the mobo

-Advanced->System Agent Configuration->Graphics configuration->Enable "iGPU Multi-Monitor" (make sure the primary adaptor still your desired GPU (I guess your dedicated GPU, so PCI-e)

Step 2: Install the intel drivers and reboot

Step 5: Create a virtual monitor
To be able to use quick sync you NEED to assign a virtual monitor to your igpu.

When the virtual screen is created go back to multiple displays and click on "Extend these displays" ( on the virtual monitor you just created)
You will need to do this for the virtual monitor to work properly.

Holy windows XP!

OT: When I set up OBS to Quicksync I didn't have to make a virtual monitor, and it still works... Infact, it didn't let me make one.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

Quick sync encoding has no performance hit, but looks even worse than the NVENC enocder :(
