Installing Steam games somewhere else?

I think you can.

Preferences > Downloads > Content Library Folders

Then you can add another folder for Steam Games, then you can install your Skyrim from there.

So I want to install Skyrim somewhere else, because of modding reasons.

How would I go about doing this?
 

Do I have to add another Steam Library folder? (currently I have one in there, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam)

Just target the save location onto that different location. I personally make another steam folder in that location so it's organized, but you don't have to.

When you download it, it asks you where to install. You give it a location. Very simple.

It didn't give any option of installing to a different folder on installation.

I had to add another folder in Steam > Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders

Only after I did that I was able to select a different location upon installing.

Interesting, I didn't have to do that. Anyway, at least you got installed. That's what matters.
