this is the only consumer webcam afaik that can skype at 1080p

http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX44064

all other 1080p webcams are advertised as 1080p because they can reocrd 1080, but only video chat at 720p

also skype doesnt support anything over 1080p

1080p is already hard to do because both users need to have a good internet connection with enough speed as well as enough CPU power to encode and decode the video stream

NEW PC build: Blank Heaven   minimalist white and black PC     Old S340 build log "White Heaven"        The "LIGHTCANON" flashlight build log        Project AntiRoll (prototype)        Custom speaker project

Not looking to Skype. Mostly use Google Hangouts. Also not only looking at consumer grade. If there is a buisnees grade that is good and does what I want it to do than I'd love to know.

well personally I wouldnt spend $1000 on a webcam, but you can if you want to...

and im not sure what resolution google hangouts supports, you should probably double check before buying a 1080p webcam if it only supports 720 or something less
