Use Fraps. Works well

Steam has a built in fps counter, nvidia experience has one, msi afterburner, fraps...

From the steam settings by pressing shift+tab

Nope, its free. Theres a premium version for recording, but there are better option for that.

 

I only use it to display FPS and you do it by opening FRAPS and confirugirng the FPS counter there. Then simply start the game and thats it.

who cares...
