Hi

I consider myself to have put together a pretty decent system,

But i find myself while gaming noticing that i dont have a steady fps.

I am running 2x Powercolor PCS+ R9 290's in crossfire, Stock Fx8320 3.5ghz, 2x AMD R Series Gaming Ram at 1866, 2x CCL Choice Ram at 1333 (higher modules will down clock to match cheaper sticks).

Ocz Vertex 120 gb ssd.

And various other 1tb hard drives.

75hz Aoc 1080p Monitor.

With this setup i would have assumed a steady 60 on battlefield 4, but no its jumping all over the place, Just got GTA 5 fps indoors is 70 - 90, outside while not driving is 50 - 60 fluctuating,While driving drops as low as 30.

Does this with other supposed high end games aswell, i thought with the crossfire i would have had a significant boost.

Have i done something wrong in my setup, i need some help please.

I would like to just maintain Steady frame rates.

GTA 5 still has performance issues. They can't be put into one bag at this time. The only thing you can do at the moment is play with graphical settings and wait for patches and driver updates.

CPU is the bottleneck and possible your mobo PCI-E lanes are not enough for dual 290s

unless you are using the 990FX

you might only be running x16 and x4

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Hi sorry i forgot to put in the mobo specs i have the asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0 board.

No i havent overclocked the cpu due to the fact im running all this on a 750 watt psu.

you will need to invest on a bigger PSU like 850 and above

with a decent cooler

also try to OC your RAM to 1600MHz

OC the hell out of the FX8320
