Help With Logitech Z506 Setup!

So I just got home with and am attempting to setup the Logitech Z506 surround sound speakers. My motherboard is the Gigabyte Gaming G1 Z97. My problem is that I can't get the surround sound setup properly. If the front and rear speakers work, then the center doesn't. Now I have the rear and center working, with the front being a no go. I am testing both through Windows and through the sound blaster control panel. I'm not even sure if I have everything plugged into the correct place because there are three colored audio wires to connect the sub--with all the speakers connected to it--to my Mobo--which has a main speaker audio port, rear, and center/sub. The mobo isn't color coordinated, though. I know this mobo supports 5.1 surround sound, but this entire process is really starting to piss me off. Any help?

To add to this, the front two speakers do work when I have the system set to be using headphones, then go back to not working when I change it back to 5.1

I've done some more testing, and I've come to some degree of the root of the problem. My computer does not recognize speakers in a 2.0/2.1 setup. It also doesn't recognize the front left/right speakers in a 5.1 setup--which would be the same connector. That audio plug does work just fine, however, when I set the system to headphones. The two stereo speakers work fine in that configuration. I tried this with my old setup--just two speakers--and the front right/left from the Z506. So what could be going on where that audio port only work when the system is set to headphones? Could I have mucked up with something I plugged in on the mobo during the initial setup? I admit that I am not super comfortable with that portion of building a PC, so it's certainly a possibility. Now that I've narrowed it down to this degree, maybe someone can help?
