Hello everyone.

Recently our internet has gone to shit and there is nothing I can do.

 

No twitch streams will load and youtube takes longer than it should. 

 

I live in basically a remote world where cable cost 2000 dollars to run.

 

So basically do I wait it out or am I basically fucked

Talk to your ISP about it. They do nothing, you threaten to cancel your plan. If they don't care, it's not worth being with them.

Well considering its a phone companey and the plan we have runs through my dads iphone as a hotspot.......Im not to sure what we can do..........

 

FYI- Internet used to be 15 down and 2 up a month ago.......dont know what has happened

Did you not see the part in orignal that there is nothing out here and cable cost 2000 dollars to run and parents tell us 3 kids to suck it up and deal with the phone?

Whoops, sorry about that. I can understand the rudeness, I get mad when my internet throttles and is still far more than usable.

 

I'd still try calling Verizon though, see what's up. It doesn't seem normal still for speeds to drop that hard.

I've got Verizon, FiOS though so it's standard wired internet.

In all honestly....you should just suck it up...

 

I don't mean to be rude, but your parent survived without internet growing up, so can you and everyone else in this world.

They don't see a need for it because it isn't necessarily necessary.  This is a matter of wanting to have it...be lucky enough you at least got something...

 

Nevertheless, it is there house that you are living in....so either suck it up and deal with it...or leave...simple isn't it?

Well what can you expect by using Cellular data? Its traveling long distances and I bet using the hotspot doesn't help make it faster either :P

In the city, my dads phone on XLTE got 85 mbit down and 65 up........we dont live in XLTE area though

Isn't there a such thing as a Local Library in your area where you can use a borrow a laptop, or use a computer or even use the wifi there?

 

Doesn't your school have some sort of computer labs for students to use for homework?

And if not, talk to your teachers and tell them you don't have internet...and do all your work on something called a pencil and paper...

Well we do but the thing is, being in track and all advanced classes, there is no way on earth I could finish everything at school............. Only reason why im saying all this is because about a week ago, I was hitting 6 down which is fine.......then this happened

There are probably other signals that interfere with it, which lowers the speeds you get.
