Source SDK maps can only be editted within hammer OR Google Sketchup with the exporter, theres also one for converting Minecraft maps but that's semi alpha / beta (I have yet to test it myself) as I'm currently making a map for Gmod.

source stuff (with the use of converters) can be moved into 3ds max.
