well i have always stayed away from pny due to its sort of off brand (i mean not one of the larger players) i dont see many people using them and i have seen some bad reviews of their gpu's. but i have never (other then customer reviews) heard first hand of if they are a decent brand or not. i have told my friends who have liked their 980 design to stay away from them due to the bad reviews or non-existent reviews. i was wondering if my theory on them is based on reality or bias the gpu brands i trust are saphire, msi, asus, gigabyte, zotac, evga and reference.

if you have used or know someone who uses a pny gpu of any generation please post and tell me things like warranty service, over clocking, temperatures, coil whine, dead or malfunctioning hardware, doa parts, missing parts and other things.

Lord knows that we need more variation in the the gpu market so i want to try to kill my biases.

Well I have a PNY GTX 670 and no issues whatsoever. I have overclocked the card numerous times and no issues. Now that doesn't speak much at all to their overall numbers for sure but I thought I'd just share my experience with the company with you. :)

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Its instinct to stick to what you know, however no knowledge will be gained by remaining complacent.

I have a PNY GTX 780 Ti which has been great to me. However it is a reference card so I don't know how much that tells you. I know they are the same company as Palit, which is a pretty reputable brand in Europe.

I have two Palit 980's and have to say they are great. Steady temps really quiet and think they look quite good. Ive actually heard good things about the PNY 980.

how is the customer service and do they use a nice power delivery system? is it easy to get water blocks for them?

I do not know how PNY is now, but I do know they were amazing back in 08-09. I had a PNY 9800GT XLR8 Performance Edition (Long name for a card that was never top of the line) that worked wonderfully until the fan on the heatsink died. I had completely forgotten to register warranty, because i had no idea you had to register cards (i thought the manual with the warranty information counted as the warranty itself, silly naive child version of myself). Decided to call them up and see if anything could be done, and they could not find my card on record because again, i did not register it. So they walked me through registration (It was a year after i already purchased the card, and they still gave me the full 2 year warranty, rather than tacking on a 1 year warranty) and had me ship my card to them. Took about 12 days to get a new card (A brand new card it seemed, as it was in a brand new box with the plastic sticker on the heatsink itself). That card still works to this very day in an HTPC of mine, not a single issue out of it.

I guess mileage may vary for some people, especially depending on where you live and what type of CS representative you get, but i've had great luck with XFX, PNY, MSI and even Zotac. When it comes to reviews, very few people will review their product if its working. Statistically speaking, you are more likely to see a bad review because of a problem happening, you hardly ever hear about the good things when it comes to products. Out of most of my products that i purchased, i've probably only reviewed 2 out of the many many purchases made. Both reviews were not the most favorable reviews too. Though I always reach out to the manufacturer first because their CS experience can help make the product worth it again, as defects or DOA's are bound to happen. Some companies just have bad CS, and deserve their reputation (Looking at you, Teknmotion)

Sorry for the long post/rant that didn't really go anywhere. TL:DR? PNY was good to me, go with your gut when making purchases.
