 will be used for rendering  and slightly gaming... my current config : i74790k @4ghz, z97 gaming 3 mobo (gigabyte), 8gb ddr 3 @1600mhz ,and a thermalteke light 550watt psu..

I would go for the best card you could get used, but be careful around ones that had been used for mining.

Unless you have a reason for getting a Nvidia card, I would get a 270x or 270.

The 265 is better.

Well... it comes down to what your rendering software can use.. it is CUDA or OpenCL or both?

If it is CUDA then 750ti is not a good option IMHO and I would rather pick GTX 660 or 760 or 960 which would be a lot better. If it is OpenCL then R9 270 but R7 265 would be good enough too.

For gaming R7 265 > GTX 750 ti.
