doubt about cpu cooler

bushrider

Hi, im thinking to change cpu cooler near the summer.
but im not sure what should i get.
im not fan of watercooling and i find the hyper 212 evo, very cool for price and performance, however i think that cooler wont fit in my setup, mostly because the ram, G.skill ripjaws

but then i was thinking, what if i put the cooler in vertical? with the fan at the top?
and why in the top? mostly becase in the botton i have the GPU and i think with the fan at the top it will push better "cold" air
any way, my case is the cooler master n200 i ill attach i picture

i'd like some suggestions, for highprofile ram  should i go watercooling? even not liking mutch

thanks =)

I have similar RAM and a Hyper 212 EVO.

The heatsink fits fine normally but the fan does get blocked slightly by the RAM.

I simply slid the fan up slightly and it cleared the RAM just fine.

buy a 50-60 dollar aio, better temps, less hassle, not /that/ much more money

like the seidon 120M? i think is nosy but not mutch compared to intel stock cooler.

the 212 evo will fit over the ram..however..you better check the clearance on your case

it might be too tall for your case

Yes, that is a Noctua fan.

I did the same thing with the CoolerMaster fan that came with the cooler and also with a Couger Vortex fan.

i think it will fit if i put like Snadzies show, in the specs of the case say" 160mm cpu cooler compatibilty, and the cooler have 159mm. i have measured and from the box till the booton i have 170mm maby i can use the exta to adjust the fan and not touch the ram

Build an m-ATX system for my mom recently and had little clearence, the NiC series (Non interference cooler) of Thermaltake is made so it won't interfiere with the ram and they offer different heights, it worked great for an AMD Richland APU but you can see how much TDP they can handle on the website so you can make sure they will work for you (I got the NiC L31 for about 30 bucks)

What is the maximum height cooler your case supports?

If you don't care about aesthetics you could always remove the ram heat spreaders.
