Building Questions

Go to solution Solved by C0LL0SS0S,

Testing your hardware on the box is pretty good to prevent redo the whole build once its finished. Anti Static is not that big of a problem as long as you touch something big metalic you should be good. If you get zapped often just from touching things better buy one

I have heard Linus say in some of his build videos that when you are actually building the PC you need to wear an anti-static strap on your leg or arm. Do you need to wear one? If so where can I buy one? Also I have heard that before you install the components into the tower, you should test all the components to see if they work. Do I need to do this? I would rather be safe than sorry, so I am making sure I figure out all of my questions in order to make my first PC build experience a good one! Thanks in advance!http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qwL6dC

Amazon, but keep in mind you have to ground them aswell, like connecting them with the ground in your wall socket

Ok, thanks! I am glad I found that out because I wouldn't want to install all of the components into the case and then find out something isn't working!

I mostly just do it like that:

1. take your case apart (not just the side panels) for ease of access.

2. place the motherboard on the motherboard standoffs.

3. Tighten the 4 screws on the cornes of the motherboard (I do no not install the IO plate)

That way you only have to undo 4 screws and unplug the ATX and CPU power connectors.

Your build looks fine but I would add 2 Noctua Fans (NF-P12 are reliable and super quiet at full speed or NF-F12 for more pressure but you may have to use the included lownoise adapters to make them silent). I've just completed a pc with the standard corsair ones on and they were driving me crazy during burnin tests.
