Which gpu is the best

Go to solution Solved by Blackie Sheen,

The 280x lineup has no artifacts problems in general. Artifacts are rather a particular card problem and any gpu can be hit by such a problem.

To answer your question, the 280x is probably the better choice since it offers really good performance overall and  for the price

hello guys, today i wanna know which gpu of these 3 gpus are the best and why? also i have a question about a specific card

the 3 gpus :

R9 280x Vapor-x Tri-x 3GB

GTX 680 GALAXY 2GB

GTX 770 ASUS 2GB

which one is the best ?

and my another question is about the r9 280x , i heard it has a serious problem and its the artifacts, so every gpu of these r9 280x comes with this problem? and what about the vapor-x tri-x? and if this is true so i will be fine without any problems with a gpu has 2GB Vram on 1080p resolution ?

and the r9 280x price is my budget, sorry but i think mentioning the budget wont solve anything because im from Egypt and the prices are different so i wanted to mention that the r9 280x price is my budget so u can compare it in ur country and thanks :)

That sounds like a nvidia fanboy has said this ..

No it is definitely not true.

It is like any other graphics cards, if you have an unstable oc you will get artifacts, but not if you do nothing.

Yes, you will be fine with 2gb vram on 1080p resolution but if you can get 3 because newer games will probably use more ram.

i would not recommend any o these try to get a 290 or 970

Those are a bit overkill for 1080p ..

Also the 290x is in the same price range as the 970 (most of the time) not the 290 non x version.

It's not true ..

I am not sure why someone would even say that.

They do not get artifacts from nothing,

Could you provide links?

Because they can't just get artifacts if the gpu and cpu is at a stable oc or stock settings (unless either of them are faulty).

770 and 680 are the same card. its just a rebrand with a bit of tweaking.

the 770 bests the 280x in almost every benchmark but depending on cost is where I'd go.

if the 289x is cheaper I'd get it over the 770 as the performance difference is far from huge.

A year ago the 770 would have beaten the 280x in most benchmarks but after a few driver updates by nvidia and AMD both the cards are on par now.

I'd recommend the 280x. The only flaw about the 770 was its 2GB vram. :/

I'm confused. The 680 and 770 both came with 4GBs of vram .  Here you go http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125462 and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083YF55U/ref=s9_hps_ft_g147_ir02/177-9227248-4434725?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=07HYHCAHFF6WN93JZP2J&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=1880770662&pf_rd_i=1001010831

The video says that it's an unstable gpu driver.

Nvidia graphics cards also have that and all you do is download the previous driver version ..

I have the 280x Gigabyte version and I have no (artifact) problems with my graphics card.

The "best solution" explains it all:

"Any card will get that artifacting issue if they run at an unstable speed. Graphics card manufacturers like to make their cards run faster than the reference (AMD set) speed so that the product looks superior. And while it is their responsibility to ensure the cards can run stable at their set speed, it seems certain manufacturers of late have been shoddy in the QC process."

and

"Nonetheless the R9 280X is still a good card and it is up to luck if you receive an unstable one. No matter what card you buy be it from AMD or Nvidia you will stand a chance to draw the short stick.

And usually Nvidia cards are priced higher than the equivalent AMD because of the brand image. Most people that are not the least bit tech savvy tend to get the notion that Nvidia is better than AMD so retailers take advantage of it to raise prices of more popular products."

Would have asked OP to go with a 770 4GB but sadly his choices don't include a 4GB 680/770.

oh yeah :( I'm still using my 680 4GB :)

same here but actually the 770 and 680 i have mentioned before are both "used" and thats why im able to buy them even cheaper than my r9 280x but i see the r9 280x is better and close to 770 but the arifacts problem is the thing which stops me ..
