What does everyone use to support there GPU?

Hello everyone,

 

What does everyone use to support there GPU from sagging?

 

I would like to know would a wooden dowel be enough to support GPU from sagging?

 

Or is there any other alternatives that one can use..?

 

I know if I was to use a wooden dowel I would need to paint it to give it a stealth look so it will not stick out like a soar thumb,

 

I was also thinking maybe something like a piece of clear plastic rod would give it a cleaner look, I think I could find the plastic rods at joann's fabric and possibly Walmart but not sure if even these places would have something like this,I am also very limited in my area for places that would have something like this unless I buy online..

 

So what would you all recommend one should use to support there video card and look very nice..?

 

Oh before I forget what size diameter rod should I go with if I was to go this route to support a GPU?

Backplates help, but you can get kickstands, etc, but I think they look like shit.

Meccano, it can be used to solve most problems, I might even build a case out of it (the stuff from the 70's has fans and propellers, and I've got a motor with a multiple ratio gear box).

I never understood how the backplate could prevent sag, it seems to me that it just adds more weight.

Nothing, it doesn't sag that much. Thanks to the backplate I suppose.

I already have a back plate that is on my Gigabyte G1 Gaming gtx 980,it is not sagging yet but seeing how heavy this video card is I want to catch it before it would start sagging not saying it will but I feel I should add some support to it..
