Flip video(R) camcorder as a webcam?

Hello everyone!

 

So I just created a Twitch account and got fairly well started on it. But then I wanted to have a webcam, of which I didn't have yet. So here are my two options: buy a new ~$30 HD webcam, or use a camcorder. I decided to first try my HD webcam that I've had for some time. It's a Flip video® UltraHD camcorder (http://www.amazon.com/Flip-UltraHD-Video-Camera-Generation/dp/B0023B14TK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428786428&sr=8-1&keywords=flip+video+ultra+hd).

 

Is there any way to use this camcorder or other related camcorders as a webcam?

you are able to use a camcorder/dslr/camera as webcam when it's drivers/software allow for direct playback onto your computer, but something like the flip camera's wont do that, sicne they are unable(so far i know) to passthrough their view form the lens to your PC directly.

I would suggest getting a HD webcam for this use or if you wanna go baller get a nice camcorder with touch screen which you can turn around, like the guys at node(youtube) have, altough they use it along with a normal webcam. where their webcam gets used for small top overlay screen and the camcorder for full screen view of their face.
