  1. Makes adding machines to the AD SO much more straightforward. The fact it's so hidden away is a crime but I am glad it's at least there.
  2. I'm using this command for user setup at work and I always joked it stood for National Reconnaissance Office due to windows NEEDING an MS account to log in... but I am curious as to what the "NRO" actually means. Anyone know?
  3. So these past few days the power in my house has been really weird. It started a couple days ago when I was downloading updates on my computer, my dad was using his laptop, had the TV on, and using the internet all at the same time. Suddenly, all of these things just randomly shut off (my dad's laptop stopped charging). This also caused our little toaster oven to turn off too. My dad's explanation was that all of the outlets that we use for these things are all part of the same circuit, and that it overheated since so many things were using power from those outlets. It was near bedtime anyway, so we just let it sit overnight. The next day, we reset the circuit (there's a little reset switch in the middle of the main outlet), and everything came back to normal. Since it was working again, I let my computer run while I was at school to finish downloading updates. Later when I got home, the same situation: router, PC, TV, and toaster were all off. So I went back to the main outlet and hit the reset button. It worked, but about 20 minutes later everything shut off again. I have let the circuit sit for about half an hour every time it tripped in case it did overheat. Whenever the power shut off, it was all while I was using my computer downloading updates or just on the desktop. Whenever these things did shut off, everything else in the house was fine. I've been using my laptop now for the past 3 hours using internet without any issues. I'm starting to think something is going on with my computer, especially since nothing like this has happened before. I did reset my PC a week ago due to OS problems but I don't see how that could cause it, unless it's a PSU problem. Please help. Build Info: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QNgwjc
  4. So I came across a video on youtube that talked about this new program called "Haste", which it said is supposed to improve the ping of your game in various games (currently supporting League of Legends and Overwatch). So, being an Overwatch player, I took the time to watch the video. My thoughts on it were mixed. It made enough sense to where it could work, but I'm not sure this is another ripoff like WTFast was. The comments on the video were mixed too, but more people experienced better ping than people who actually gained ping. Has anybody heard of it/used it? If so does it really work?
  5. Routing cables and making sure none are in the path of your fans' airflow is a good place to start. As for the radiator location, if you want maximum airflow, I'd suggest putting it with the exhaust fans like your second option. The air coming in from your intake is fresh air that isn't partially blocked by your radiator and allows it to go more directly to more areas of your PC. Not to mention that fresh air goes directly to your radiator and exhausts it right back out, making it a better cooling solution.
  6. Nothing can get rid of dust forever, but you can do things that can help lower the amount of dust that gets in your PC. The best/easiest way is to dust it out with an air can (or air compressor if available). To avoid that dust from circulating in your house, you can dust it outside if you can to prevent that dust from coming back. Another thing you can do is vacuum/clean your floors often, especially if you have carpet in your house. This can get rid of dust that might rise from the ground and into your case. In addition to dusting your floors, wiping off counter tops or other surfaces that are usually dusty helps.
  7. The 4K screen is an option that you can get for different configurations of this laptop. You don't have to get the 4k screen.
  8. https://www.ipchicken.com This should give you the right IP address to give to your friends. Also while you're at it, set your IP to static since its a hassle to give your friends new IPs every time it changes.
  9. Dell Inspiron 15 7559: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B015PYZ0J6/ref=psdc_565108_t3_B015PYYDMQ Really good parts in it for its price (considering laptops of course). Plus its $50 under budget
  10. There might be a Xeon that has 16 cores but I haven't done much research on those processors. And more cores means the workload is spread out more between the cores. At least I'm pretty sure that's what it means.
  11. Are you going to include software in your price? How about other things like mice, keyboards, or monitors?
  12. The only thing I know about it is that this line will have some pretty competitive performance with Intel processors (AMD's finally making their processors have way better perfomance) and that one of the processors is going to be a 16-core processor.
  13. His budget also includes OS, monitor, and peripherals.
  14. Hey guys, So I'm making a list of parts to build a PC for my friend who wants something better than is 6 year old HP laptop. And I'm kind of stuck picking out the parts. Details: He says his budget is $800 He will not overclock He needs the PC to connect to the internet via wireless. Feel free to put any parts lists you think are good for this budget below!
