OK, this is freaking me out.

Few days ago, I decided to see how the original bios of the Lightning was like (I am on LN2 right now), I didnt find it interesting, so I switched back to the LN2 bios. Installed the ATI 15.3 beta drivers and all that.

BUT now, my 290x Lightning shows up as -

AMD Radeon R9 200 Series (Engineering Sample - WDDM v2.0)

But before it was just -

AMD Radeon R9 2900 Series

WHAT IS  HAPPENING????

Will it decrease performence/overclocking potential in any way?

not sure the 15.3 Beta driver got me to 1260 Core now 24/7 Stable on my 280.

Hmm, so what does an "Engineering Sample" mean?

It means it was a card used by AMD to officially to test on.

My 3770k was in a ES batch but doesn't show as a ES on HWBOT.

PEWDIEPIE DONT CROSS THAT BRIDGE

Oh....

Does that mean I can sell it for a higher price? :D

Also... It says WDDM v2.0. Care to explain what that means?

Yes because again ES are "rare"

Just means it uses Windows Display Driver Model version 2.0

Wow, maybe I will sell it to an Hardcore AMD collector.

So again, there is literally no difference between enginnering sample nd notml gpu excepet "rareness"?

Also, how much more do ES usually sell for?
