I can't really decide on which game to get.. i'm after a multiplayer FPS, i'm considering cs go or bf hardline at the moment.. do you need a subscription to play bf on pc? I've only ever played it on console? any other good choices?

I was also thinking of getting the first two witcher games before the 3rd comes out, are they worth playing/ will it improve my experience when playing 3 or not really? i've never played any of them.

cheers

The first two witcher games are definitely worth playing. They are not pre-requisites for the 3rd game, as CDPR has made a point to make it accessible to newcomers.

That being said, there's no denying that there will be a multitude of references that you would not understand unless having played the first two games, not even mentioning the content from the books.

If you are truly interested in The Witcher's fascinating lore, I highly recommend reading the books in order then playing the games. You would honestly miss out on the depth of many of the relationships between Geralt and other characters without the books backing you.

csgo is more competetive than BF hardline and no, you don't need a subscription. it's free to play online,

Cs go is pay to play no sub but not free

hardline is actually really enjoyable. I've been playing it loads since it came out.

its only £25/$40 on g2a.com so makes it even more tempting

If you get CSGO you'll have a learning curve, but the responsiveness of the game is unmatched. Every other game shooter feels detached and lethargic (at least to me and my friends). The community has some good people. ALOT of bad eggs. You do not HAVE to buy anything extra, but very few people do go through without buying a few skins. Battlefield will be more "fun" and a bit easier. Depends on if you want a challenge or not.

Hmm, I think I'm leaning away from cs as I think I want something s little more casual.. Thank you for your advice.

Def take a look at insurgency. My favorite fps to date.

I'd never heard of insurgency, I've just had a look and I'm torn between that and battlefield haha..

I like Hardline personally. The Witcher 3 is stand alone, but the basis of the story can be learned without playing the 1st two games. I just watched some good youtube summaries in preparation.

Thats very easy, if you want vehicle combat go with battlefield. If you want infantry combat with advanced tactics and hardcore gameplay, go with insurgency. Ive played battlefield a lot and i kind of got vehicles out of my system and im really enjoying the challange that is insurgency.

If you ever played arma style games you will like it. The increased damage model (one shot kill from basically any rifle most of the time) and tactical objective play really make for an advanced fps experience. Besides its cheap so you cant really go wrong.
