Should i replace my hyper 212 evo or get a better fan for it?

What should i do to get better cpu temps (its a 4790k btw so its hot as F***). Replace my hyper 212 evo or replace my system and heat sink fan? Or should i just forget it for now and just use the cash for the steam summer sale?

Upgrade or reapply thermal paste, and get better fans. The 212 is a good sink as is, but better fans could help.

The projects never end in my line of work.

Are you overclocking? If not then you could get a Noctua for more silence, otherwise a new heatsink is not needed, if you are overclocking then i'd do it if you have the money

You could get a Noctua even when overclocking. Lots of us use them.

That might work since i bought some shitty thermal past from sketchy guy so yeha

what are the temp in your house, this seem close to what you should be getting (slightly higher) but, you could live in a hot place. i extra fan or a new fan will do about 2-5c load temps, you may consider a new heatsink this will lower temps more but, will cost a lot more. your temps are safe. 70c is where i cut the temps when i am folding at home. your cpu can handle 80c no problems for awhile (years)

Those seem like within the range of normal temps. I had a 212 on before moving over to AIO and my high temp with an OC was around 65. Start with reapllying thermal paste. If the temps don't change then try new fans.

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 MB: MSI Z77A-GD55  CPU: i5 3330 OCd to 3.4Ghz CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 2x8GB @ 1600MHz GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming PSU: Seasonic M12II 650W HDD: Two Seagate Barracuda 2TB @ 7200 RPM SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

Not with iPPC fans. And as always... function before form.

Arctic Silver is a good thermal paste. As for budget fans, the one on there is going to be the best for the money. If you want to upgrade, I'd suggest an SP120. Don't buy a cheap $5 fan though. You won't see a difference with a cheap fab.

Your temperatures are normal as WoodenMaker noted, no need to spend money buying thermal paste and fans.
