How's it going everyone? i am currently on a "mission" to try and build myself a PC...(as the title says) i have got a list of things that i have been looking at but might need some input... i am thinking of a budget of roughly $1500 (australian), also this is to be a gaming rig.

here is what i have atm....

Gigabyte GTX 960 G1 Gaming 4 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card GV-N960G1 GAMING-4GD

Corsair RM Series 850 Watt ATX/EPS 80PLUS Gold-Certified Power Supply - CP-9020056-NA RM850

ASUS Wi-Fi PCI Express Adapter (PCE-AC56)

Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

LG Electronics 14x Internal BDXL Blu-Ray Burner Rewriter WH14NS40 - Bulk Drive – Black

Corsair Air Series AF120 LED Quiet Edition High Airflow Fan Twin Pack - Blue

WD RE4 2 TB Enterprise Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA II, 64 MB Cache

Azza SIRIUS CSAZ-206S Mid Tower Computer Case, Black

Corsair Vengeance Pro Series Blue 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHZ (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

Intel Core i7-4790K Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.40 GHz)

I know I am missing the motherboard.. which is one thing I am not sure of.... help would be much appreciated :D

If I am missing anything else please let me know some ideas :) (BTW this is only the tower.. I haven't thought about the monitors or anything like that yet)

P.s: games that I want to play on it are battlefield and planet side 2, if that may help :)

cheers for your help guys and girls :D

You should drop down to a i5 and bump the GPU up to a 970.

I'm a tad busy at the moment, so ill let the other guys help you.

4690K and 4790K doesn't really have much difference besides Hyperthreading. Unless you do video rendering and such, the 4690K seems like a better option.

And definitely GTX 970.

I didn't have money for a 970 at the time I built mine. >.<

Definitely switch out the I7 for an I5 unless you're doing rendering or editing, they have very similar performance in games, and switch out the 960 for a 970, it'll be much better for games, also that power supply is a bit overkill for that system. As for a motherboard I'd say go with something like this one: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97pcmate

Thanks very much for all the tips guys.

I probably should have mentioned that  do plan to make videos at some point in the future.... and i also want to add another graphic card and run 2 way SLI... not right atm but at some point in the nearish future.

thank you AFlyingBuffalo for that link :) was very handy... however it does say that it doesn't run SLI.... of which (as i said above) I do plan to do in the future

nah nah nah u read it all correctly :P i only just put in that i wanted to run 2 way SLI in the post above your most recent haha.

Oh... whoops here's a different Motherboard with SLI if you wanna look at it: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97sslikraitedition

I personally love the black and white but that's personal preference obviously. :)
