After forgetting to sleep again, I remembered a conversation my friends were having in class last week. They were talking about when they sleep after all nighters. They said they usually fall asleep in the morning and wake up in the afternoon. Personally I found this strange since when I don't sleep all night, I stay awake until I would regularly go to sleep. Usually like midnight or whatever. Due to the fact that Linus Media Group never sleeps, I thought this forum would be perfect for a discussion about all angles of all nighters. What are your thoughts on the subject?

There are many things that will mess up a sleep pattern.  A lack of physical activity, no job or education to tire the brain out, sleeping issues that need to be addressed by a physician and then specialists, etc.  The bottom line is your body as a youth needs a certain amount of sleep which was said to be 12 hours and as an adult it is like 5 to 7 hours I believe?  All I can say on the matter is when you get into a pattern of not sleeping it can get out of hand and really mess you up.  It can definitely change how you deal with people in terms of how much patience you have.  If you are having issues sleeping take it seriously and address the issues.

I agree, I feel messed up due to my sleeping patterns. When I generally don't sleep at night I generally stay awake next day too and when i sleep later at night around 12 to 1am. I wake up at 4pm. I might get awake in morning for few minutes but i feel bit tired and hesitant so it result in excessive sleep for which I feel a bit embarrassed.

It's hard to control my sleep schedule, I'm just f*cked up.... Now I sleep around 10PM-Midnight.... Wake up around 5AM.... Sometimes I feel dizzy but I just can't help it, promise myself to sleep at 9PM, it doesn't help much.....

One thing I failed to mention is that melatonin can help you sleep better if you are the type that puts their head on the pillow and just can't fall asleep or stay asleep.  I know for me that is not something I need.  I can put my head on the pillow and fall asleep no problem.

Or just think like this.... Um.... Your crush???? Then just fall asleep..... Doesn't work for me, but work around 10PM.... Pretty weird.....

I sometimes pull allnighters. Not too often though.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Occasionally, when I have to work with people in other timezones. Got my cupboard with ye old enthusiast grade narcotics for that, the type used to combat narcolepsy or for military purposes. Not tweaker stuff, well some of it. Naturally they aren't really considered to be legal. Some semi, most totally not.

However that's just the nature of my job, if it can be avoided. One should do so at any costs.

I haven't been sleeping well lately. I think it is partially due to the fact that my dorm room has started getting hot at night and the air conditioning hasn't been turned on yet. But also, I get into bed tired and all of a sudden I start thinking of all sorts of things (mainly electrical design ideas) and it is hard to just stop thinking about stuff so that I can fall asleep. Knock off z quill has helped so that when I do eventually get tired enough to fall asleep I stay knocked out until my alarm goes off instead of tossing and turning all night.

As far as pulling all nighters, I generally don't do it for schoolwork. I will go to bed at a reasonable time and wake up early in the morning to finish whatever it is. I would rather take the hit in one class for not having something done than do terrible in my other classes all day. If it something physical that I am building like a robot, then nothing stops me from working until it is done (except food and restroom breaks).
