What is the difference between these, and is that difference worth 150$ USD?

K712 as far as I know has the 3db increase in bass which a lot of people say makes the headphone sounds more warm. Personally I'd recommend you finding used K7xx as it should sound similiar to K712 for $200

 

K702 will sound somewhat brighter since it has less bass

I can't find k7xx anywhere, except massdrop, and I doubt that they will be released any time soon.

7xx were a massdrop special I believe.. you can vote to get them back though.

I did. It requires 200, there are 1200. I Dont have faith in it coming back.

Personally I would say its not worth the the extra money. Go for the 702s and if possible, do the bass mod on them. That should increase the bass punch and range a bit more than stock and you should notice it. Just search K701/701/Q701 bass mod and you'll see how easy it is.

Well, I currently have Razer electras and I Dont care too much about bass. I just want great sound. Does the k712 offer anything besides a bit more bass?

You could fine used ones in headfi trading forum. Most of them are like 3 months old max, so they should be fine.

As stated above, I already knew that. The problem being that I Dont believe they're ever coming back seeing as they're almost 7x the requests required and they're not up.

If anyone knows of a place to pick up a pair somewhere, perhaps used, please tell me.

Its 200$ unopened, plus whatever shipping from Pensylvannia to Montana is, so probably not loads.

If it's not from the first drop (hence almost positive no bass rattle), just grab it . I personally like the sound of K7xx
