hdd not showing up

so i recentely had to dissassemble my system and when i reassembeled it my hdd doesnt show up. i know the drive still works because i have a sata to usb cable and it works fine that way

Is the SATA data cable loose at either end, and is it getting power?

did you plug the HDD into the same port it originally was in?

does it have sata power?

Since the drive works fine with the SATA to USB cable, the problem might be coming from the computer itself. First check your cables. Try another SATA cable and see if the drive gets recognized in BIOS. Also try another power cable. Try plugging the drive on another computer internally and see if it works fine there. 
Do you have other drives in that computer? Is the drive gone from BIOS or just Windows? Is it plugged in the same SATA port as before? What brand and model is the drive?
