What are you doing that needs six cores, just wondering? If you're doing more gaming, I'd get a cheaper CPU then spend the money from the CPU on an ASUS Anniversary GTX 980.

R9 290 would be better, maybe better looking ram and msi SLI+ board (black board is baller)

An R9 290 would not be better than the GTX 970 in his build.

"things that need 6 cores" xD

Gaming at what resolution? You can probably spare some money on the motherboard, an X99-A will be more than enough. The rest looks pretty solid, maybe go with an nh-d14 or an AIO instead of the nh-d15 (it's MASSIVE and you probably don't really need it).

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I chose that RAM because it's cheap and it supposedly overclocks to 2800+ Mhz CL12 without a hitch. Neh, I'm not convinced MSi makes better mobo's than Asus.

I dabble in audio engineering and some video rendering. Not enough that I needed a 5930K or 5960X. I told myself I wouldn't go LGA2011 if it costs more than $1800. :) Glad I kept it under the limit.

I did wanna run a slight overclock but I might end up getting a different air cooler depending on the price then. Does the X99-A have a wifi card too?

why not get rid of that hard drive and get a larger evo? it's within your reach!

Uh, maybe I will if it doesn't pass $1800. Figured a HDD would be fine for mass storage and games.

Thanks for all you guys's help btw! :)
