Looking for AIO Help/Suggestions. Noisy h100i.

SOO I'm in a slight dilemma,

Right now I have an i7 4790k with an h100i on a Maximus Gene VII in a Thermaltake Core V21.

I have a 4.7 overclock on the CPU and good temps with the h100i (Low 60s under load/gaming) and I want to be able to keep that.

I am really going for a quiet build, all of the fans are SP/AF fans running at low RPMs and are nearly silent when doing normal tasks, but obviously it ramps up during load.

TL;DR So i guess the real question is, when my system is at idle, the only thing I can hear is the pump of my h100i. I have looked up issues on the h100i before thinking it could be the pump going, but it is different from the noises people have posted on youtube, etc. and its definitely not air in the loop (I have had that before).

is the h100i pump just relatively loud for a very quiet build? I have thought about going to a different AIO for noise, but now it seems I'm worried about pump noise, will any others actually make a difference? or am I just going to have to deal with the fact there is going to be some noise with water cooling?

Custom watercooling > Air cooling > AIO

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Hello,

So I went , like to , from a H100i because I thought it was too noisy .

This is what I have tested : The smaller pumps ( H55 , H105 ) are pretty much as quiet as they get for pumps ( at absolute minimum RPM ) , I tried the liqtech 240  was too noisy , tried the H220 , and It's currently in my rig .

I recommend getting a H105 / H110 and getting noctua fans for it , or getting an expandable aio and adding a 240/280 rad .

Or you can go air cooling , but I find that those are generally ugly .

Don't forget , the main noise on my h100i where my fans , until I replaced them with noctua's and the pump became audible .

Thank you for your input.

I also replaced the stock fans, and that's when my pump became audible as well, I'm glad to hear it isn't just me losing my mind haha.

I have been looking at the H220x and I've head with the H220/h220x that the pump is noisy because its more powerful than the other AIOs, but it seemed like it could just be a vibration issue, how has it been for you?

Cooler Master Nepton 240M has a nearly silent pump, and very high end included fans.  Go for that, try and resell your H100i.

The pump IS noisier than the asetek pumps ( corsair H series )

If you don't need to expand , get the H105 or H110 ( 280mm or thick 240mm )

There are a lot of other watercoolers , but they are usually more expensive .

If I where you I would look at some reviews and choose the best looking / quietest 240 / 280 aio .

I got the H100i too with my new built. Even replaced the fans with 2 NF-F12. Pump was not loud but I couldn't accept the fact that I could hear it when in idle. Load was still noisy.

Changed it to an NH-D15 and everything is good now. Doesn't look as nice but I'd do it everytime again and I enjoy the silence :)
