Fan placement

Fiddler

I've just built my PC in a Fractal Design Core 2300 case which came with two 120mm fans, one bottom front and one top rear; I'm presuming that the design is for front intake and rear exhaust. Do you think it's worth the effort to move the rear fan to the front of the case as another intake fan to maintain positive case pressure and keep cat hair and dust out..... or does it really not make that much difference. What is your opinion?

my opinion. get moar fans.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Do it and get another fan as exhaust. Unless you are using single or dual fan AIO.

depending on how bad air flow is you could see a 5c decrease in temps max. mostly you want more fans to run them at a lower rmp for less noise but, in the case of a small case your temps should decrease too. also for cheap air filters just use panty hose ;P

I wouldn't suggest not having an exhaust fan as you need to be making the air come in at points you want and out points you want.

Without the exhaust fan the air will just escape wherever it can which to be honest wont be a huge issue, but will definitely not be optimal.

Have the same amount of intake fans to exhaust fans if possible, to avoid pressure issues.
