Testing Components

Hello everyone!

So recently my power supply blew out without any visual damage to any other components of mine, so I went to get a replacement. I don't know if my power supply failing damaged any other parts. Is there a way I can test my other components to see if they still work?

Plug it in,  turn it on? If it works it works, check to make sure all your fans and shite are working..

something a lot of people will cringe at, but you can smell a burnt out component, give your components a good sniff, if they smell like some acidic burn, they're dead.

 

otherwise: toss them in a system and try.

Just plug the parts into the new PSU and as Lolzious said if it works it works. Usually if a PSU goes out the Mobo goes with it so if when you test the system it does turn on at all the Mobo is the first thing you replace.

My PSU blew once, the first one.

if you hear a "POP" sound when it goes down, it mostlikely a capacitor just blew

 

just search youtube for capacitor blow up

 

if didn't turn into fire, 90% your hardware will works.
