Nope. The 4350 ever-so-slightly out performs the Pentium (at stock speeds)

Although, for price to performance, and overclocking ability, the G3258 is a bit better.

Also, here is a build which is a bit better for the money.

*note the 212 Evo... Make sure you OC that Pentium to get good performance ;)

I would go for the i3.

Mind the AMD rig has a better mobo.... But I think an i3 out does an 4350 currently. DX12 could be very interesting though.

Spoiler

Corsair 400C- Intel i7 6700- Gigabyte Gaming 6- GTX 1080 Founders Ed. - Intel 530 120GB + 2xWD 1TB + Adata 610 256GB- 16GB 2400MHz G.Skill- Evga G2 650 PSU- Corsair H110- ASUS PB278Q- Dell u2412m- Logitech G710+ - Logitech g700 - Sennheiser PC350 SE/598se

Is it just me or is Grammar slowly becoming extinct on LTT?

Ok since that seems to be general consensus I will, I also liked the idea of getting the. Noctua cooler with it, thanks for the advice though

Go for the i3.  Buying AMD cpus atm kinda seems wrong, unless you need many cores.

I'll keep the OC in mind, but as far as your build, the ram I understand, but why more power?

500w is the minimum for a 280x. I have the exact same card and couldn't overclock from the measly 850mhz on a 520 watt PSU.

Also, XFX get's their power supplies from "Super Flower" which makes a DAMN good power supply ^_^

I also changed the mobos on the Intel systems to this:

Motherboard: Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($79.99 @ Newegg)

(Sli and crossfire for future upgrades)

a G3258 has better single core performance than all AMD CPUs

its a fact that intel have better single core performance than AMD as you can see from all single threaded benchmarks ever

That  doesn't change the fact that games are starting utilize more cores. So when almost all new games don't run on your little dual core, then you'll be talking :P

That's why I included an AMD system, and apparently I'm not that tired yet. *internet grabs my eyelids and forces them open*

the i3 build wont need an aftermarket cooler, you could use money else where

Ryzen 7 5800X3D , Arctic Liquid Freezer  III , Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite , Corsair Vengeance 32GB , Gigabyte RTX 5070Ti ,  WD SN850 / MP44L

Corsair RM 850x, LIAN LI Lancool 207

true

but thats why hes getting an i3 instead

also it is possible to mod some games so that they work on dual core CPUs even though they are hardware restricted to 4 cores minimum
