AMD and Nvidia

It got me thinking nvidia and amd produce high end cards but should they unite and combine all their features into one beastly card (980 and 290x combined) Pulse comment and say if they should collide or not and why.

This would be physically impossible, due to monopoly reasons. Besides, their competition against each other is what drives innovation, and helps lower prices for consumers.

I'd include more instances rather than having only 1. Unless of course you want to be stuck with the same hardware for decades, rather than years.

That cooler would probably be appropriate for a 970 or 980 with their TDP. The AMD reference cooler just looks a lot worse than Nvidia's reference cooler, too. Spending £400 on a high end product and have it be the noisiest, most plastic looking piece of crap, even if it functioned fantastically, would really put me off.
