Hello!

Now, finally, Amazon stepped up and said they would offer a full refund for my Samsung 840 EVO (The Nand is shit here)

Now I need a new SSD or SSD's. I have sume guidelines for suggestions here -

1. Has to be 250 or 256 GB

1. CANNOT BE TLC NAND

2. Two 120GB drives is VERY much preffered

3. Under $140

4. Amazon preferred

5. SATA 6

7. Corsair Preffered

8. IOPS Read, minimum for 2 drives would be 60K and minimum for 1 drive is 80k read and 70k Write

Thats it!

Thanks for replying!

Well, I would say the 840 or 850 evo, but since you seem to have a disliking for them (I have no idea why, they're great ssd's) I guess I might suggest saving up a bit more money (about 30 bucks from your budget price) and getting a Corsair Neutron XT 240GB. 170 on Amazon.

Laptop - Lenovo Y50   Keyboard - Corsair K95 RGB Cherry MX Brown   Mouse - Logitech G502 Proteus Core   Mousepad - Razer Firefly

Why do you want 2 drives instead of 1?

Why no Samsung or TLC?

Taking a shot in the dark, its because of the issues with the NAND type.

RAID 0 :)

This is kind of an old article, but here.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-raid-benchmark,3485.html

It uses 840's

I'll just explain it here. In short, the benchmarks show that there is some improvement, of course.

However, in real world tests, the raid 0 is actually slower for starting up/shutting down and launching programs.

Oh yeah, anyone know any good things about this running in raid 0?

OCZ ARC 100 ARC100-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Im sorry about the constant bickering with you, but yes ARC's are very good.

Naa, even if you gave em for free, I would not take any Samsung shit

Seems slow in write

I updated what the whole post was about.

The only improvement you'll find is when transferring files, and I doubt you're going to use SSD's for mass storage anyways.

Over 500MB per sec is slow? Especially if your going to be running Raid 0?

Edit: reading through the review, its still quite good for a budget SSD.
