used it

hardly made any difference

it just converts your useless thumbdrive for extra RAM for the PC to use

suppose to be faster than HDD for file swapping

but to me nothing anything to be amazed

To me, it has its good uses. When I've had little RAM in my computer and needed a little extra, ReadyBoost has been quite handy for that. I guess it depends on the person. Some would say that it's relatively useless, however, others like me would agree that it has helped somewhat.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

ReadyBoost was introduced at a time where it was somewhat semi-common to see users with the too little RAM on their system, and definitely no SSD, but rather a 5400RPM HDD. Not everyone knows how to get the right RAM and install it themselves. The idea is that they could use a fast USB flash drive as an extension of their RAM, providing a solution that way faster than paging on the HDD, but slower than RAM.

It can make a difference on systems reaching only the OS minimum specs, with, as mentioned, slow HDD.
