im looking at buying either the corsair h80I, kraken x40, or antec kuhler 920. which one is best?

As the kraken x40 is a 140mm rad cooler it will perform best.

As long as you can fit it in your case.

i was thinking that but the Kuhler 920 is much thicker

The x40 is about 25mm thick - the Antec is about 50mm thick. So you trade performance of the x40's 140mm versus the thickness of the 920's 120mm. All in all - you may see a 1-2 degree difference, + or -, between these two. I have an Antec unit, ships with two fans, so if using in Push/Pull - just ensure you have the clearance...

excuse me to say, but neither of them are the best...

they all have their pros and cons on using them.. and

usually for a lil more in saving and spending a better solution

may be found.

s'more information may help with better answers..

rig specs are always nice..
