Hello fellow beings,

I am planning to build my very first pc this summer and I need your guys help.

My budget is 750 - 800 euro without OS (820 - 875 USD), and I think I am going to build one of the two builds shown beneath. I would like to know if the parts in these builds are compatible and which of the two I should get. I would like to know too if these builds will be able to play games like Battlefield 4, Far Cry 3 and Crysis 3 maxed out at 1080p.

Build 1 (AMD):

CPU: AMD FX 6300

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V v2

Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming

RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport (2x4gb @ 1600 Mhz)

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming

PSU: Corsair CX600M

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

Case: Sharkoon T28 (Red edition)

Build 2 (Intel):

CPU: Intel Core i3 4150

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V v2

Motherboard: MSI B85-G43 Gaming

RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport (2x4gb @ 1600 Mhz)

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming

PSU: Corsair CX600M

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

Case: Sharkoon T28 (Red edition)

I am probably going to upgrade my CPU as time passes, and I have heared that the AM3+ socket is dead so I think I would be better off buying an Intel build because of the possibility to upgrade to Core i5s and Core i7s without upgrading my motherboard.

Now, which build should I choose? Will that build be able to play some of the newest games maxed out? And are the parts compatible?

Thanks in advance,

MrChavelo

Build 2 with a 280X instead of a GTX 960.

The GTX 960's are overpriced in the Netherlands.

Rest of the build seems pretty good, can't comment on the motherboard because I dont know that much about them

It'll blow the pants off of both of those builds. This build will be able to play all the newest titles maxed out at 1080p 60fps.

See how much does this build add up to when switching to EU version. :)

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

Thanks for all the support.

I think I will get this build:

CPU: Intel Core i5 4440

CPU Cooler: Stock cooler, I probably will uprade it down the road

Motherboard: Asrock H87 Pro4

RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport (2x4gb @ 1600 Mhz)

GPU: Asus R9 280 3GB

PSU: Corsair CX600M

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

Case: Sharkoon T28 (Red edition)

Price: €731/801 USD

This will be a way better build than the two of my first post.

I am going to buy all the parts at one shop, thus I will spend a little more money. However, Azerty is one of the cheapest Dutch/Belgian webshops I can find.

Any comments?
