Alright, so I want to do the cheapest possible build while still maintaining to game at 1080p 60fps and video editing. No, I do not want to go out there and buy used parts like Linus and Luke did in Scrapyard Wars, I just want to order online or go to a computer store and buy brand new parts. I wanna see what people can come up with. Any ideas?

Are you willing to sacrifice build quality and reliability to reach the lowest price possible?

By the way, "video editing" is a broad term. Depending on how much of it you do you may need to spend 600 bucks or 6000.

Light video editing, I'm wanting best bang for your buck but at the smallest price. If you absolutely need a budget price, i would say $400. I do want reliability, but in a sense such as I don't want some faulty PSU ruining my day.

Hey man, I was posting this as a serious thread. Obviously a $1000 gpu isn't going to work.

lol, you can never expect full seriousness on LTT.  However, $400 is REALLY low for a pc, and gaming and video editing often require quite different hardware.

My life is consumed by CS:GO, even though I'm not exceptionally good at it.

CPU: AMD A10-5800K | GPU: Gigabyte R9 270 2GB | RAM: 8GB 1333Mhz HyperX Blu | Storage: 120GB Samsung 850 EVO + 1TB WD Caviar Blue | Chassis: NZXT H230 | Mobo: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-HD3 | PSU: Corsair CX500 500W | Cooling: CM Hyper 212 EVO | OS: Windows 10
In order of priority: GTX 970 Strix, 2 good 1080p monitors, i5 4690k, MSI Z97 Gaming 5 LGA 1150, a job

At $400 you are looking at a i3 max, OR AMD with possibly a 750ti...

Alright, just for gaming, $400.

Mmm yeah, it's hard to build 1080 60 fps PC with 400$ :(

All I can suggest:

Sth like Intel Pentium G3258 (+cooler)

nvidia 750/750Ti

simple MOBO, asrock - cheapest ones

6GB DDR3 RAM

400W PSU

500GB HDD

Thats around 420$

Hope it will help

EDIT: Oh, I was thinking for too long ^^""

and prices according to my country and dollar rate ^^"

Use the windows 10 tech preview. Works just fine for most uses, especially gaming. And it's currently free. If you're willing to spend a bit more you should really consider the R9 280 in @Jamdog 's build paired with my selection of parts.

This could probably do BioShock: Infinite at 1080p 60fps with low-medium settings. Basing that on my build (in sig) and having used that case/psu combo.

G3258 @ 4.5 | 8GB Team Vulcan RAM | 128GB Kingston V300 SSD (I didn't know what I was doing when I bought it) | MSI H81I Motherboard | Corsair H55 with Noctua NF-P12 | EVGA SSC GTX 960 4GB | OCZ 550W Fully Modular PSU with Noctua NF-A14 | Cooler Master Elite 130 (Soon to be something cool)

Agreed. While $400 builds are impossible in Aus in USA it's doable.

G3258+Any cheap H81 board

1x4GB DDR3 Ram stick

Case+PSU Bundle. 500w preferred

GTX 750 TI or 280

That's probably the best that can be done. But tbh I'd look second hand for GPU or CPU. A old Q6600 and a 290 will be much better and cheaper.

He wants u to make a build for as low as u can but still be able to run games 1080p 60fps. THERE IS NO BUDGET !

Every build posted here is pretty useless unless someone does the benchmarks on the specific build for specific games (good luck running Arma 3 at constant 60fps).

dude lol it doesn't matter how beefy a rig is, Arma III's optimization is terrible it's so hard to run on multiplayer, although the gameplay makes up for it.
